If you have been on The Great Alaska Fishing Trip before then this is the place to view your trip's pics and reminisce about the great time you had fishing in Alaska! It is also the place to get all the information about the next years upcoming trip as well! If you have not been on The Great Alaska Fishing Trip before, this part of the 'Catching Alaska Sockeye' website will give you an idea about what The Great Alaska Fishing Trip is all about! You can view pics from several past year's trips and read through all the information for the upcoming trip to see if it is something that you or your friends would be interested in participating in. There are only a limited number of spots available on this trip each year and priority goes to clients of Jimmy's financial planning business.
The trip is usually a week long and starts and finishes in Anchorage, Alaska. We rent several motor homes and travel to various fishing locations on the Kenai Peninsula in search of Sockeye Salmon as well as other species of Alaska sport fish. The trip usually includes a day or two of deep sea fishing as well out of Homer and/or Seward for halibut, rockfish, Coho (Silver) Salmon and lingcod. All the fish is filleted, vacuum packed and flash frozen for the guys to take home with them at the end of the trip. The trip is all inclusive and includes all your accommodation (motor home based), all you can eat and drink (yes, alcohol included) and all your fishing (including gear). You arrange your own flights to/from Anchorage (ANC) and buy your own fishing license online before you come. You also buy or bring your own waders to use on the trip and all the rest is taken care of for you! Over the years we have finished the trip with anywhere from 500 pounds of fillets to over 2000 pounds of fillets for the guys to take home!
Jimmy runs this annual trip and puts together the itinerary and handles all of the logistics. Jimmy is a licensed fishing guide in Alaska but this trip is run for fun and everyone pitches in to help out as part of the group! This is not run as a business and is a group of friends fishing together! Each year brings together a diverse group of fishermen from all over the country and world to have a good time, some laughs and lots of fishing! If all this sounds like fun to you and you like what you see in all the pics, then take a look at the link for the 2013 Trip to view the itinerary and costs for the next trip. If you are still interested in coming along or have some questions, then contact me using the form at the bottom of this page or you may also contact me through the Great Alaska Fishing Trip or Alaska Sockeye facebook pages as well.
